A mini-tummy tuck is a procedure especially designed for women who do not need the more extensive muscle repair of a full tummy tuck. The mini-nipntuck takes advantage of the less invasive liposuction technique to decrease the “muffin top†bulge. Secondly, excision of extra skin helps to smooth out the stomach, improving the appearance of a protruding tummy. “Muffin Top†is described by the Oxford English Dictionary as a bulge of flesh above the waistband of a tight pair of pants. The famous dictionary is continually updating popular words and phrases. It has added about 900 new entries with the newest edition, including the addition of muffin top.
The phenomenon of Muffin Top is a condition that appears to be particularly bothersome among woman of post-menopausal age. Hormone changes may sometimes lead to this increased belly protrusion, that has not otherwise been an issue before. Certainly increased exercise helps in some cases. Cosmetic surgery procedures may also be considered for tummy restoration when patients are unhappy with the unwanted overhang.
