Rave Reviews for Outpatient Surgery Centers
March 14th, 2012
Fox Business reports that experts find that Ambulatory Surgery Centers or ASC’s have improved the outpatient experience for millions of Americans by offering less costly and a more convenient alternative to hospitals for elective surgical care, diagnostic and preventive procedures.
“Patients feel less anxious, are exposed to less infection, and experience better results following anesthesia when compared to undergoing surgery in the hospital setting,†says Dawn Spencer, chief operating officer at The Center for Ambulatory Surgery.
I agree that by utilizing my own accredited cosmetic surgery facility, the smaller setting helps to develop and maintain more personalized service for my patients. According to Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, patient satisfaction rates consistently range in the 92nd %.

Mercury Tainted Anti-Aging Creams
March 12th, 2012
The FDA has warned consumers not to use skin products containing mercury. Mercury is a significant problem with many off-brand cosmetic products, usually manufactured and sold outside the USA.
According to Federal health officials, they are marketed as skin lighteners and anti-aging treatments that remove age spots, freckles, blemishes and wrinkles. Consumers are attracted to them because they are much cheaper than recognizable name brands. Mercury exposure from these tainted products may pose serious health risks. I recommend that anyone considering anti-aging treatments consult with their physician. Most cosmetic surgeons offer complementary office consultations.
