Friday Photos: Smoke at the Beach
January 17th, 2014
Our son Josh, sent this photo showing that the smoke from the Glendora wildfire in the Southern California’s Angeles National Forest had reached the coast. The 30 mile an hour wind gusts and extremely dry conditions contributed to the rapidly spreading fire to consume 1,700 acres in the foothills Northeast of Los Angeles. Josh said the gray smoke reached the Santa Monica beach community late in the afternoon. As last reported, firefighters have managed to contain the blaze.
