Friday Photo: Last Taste of Fresh Corn
October 6th, 2017
It’s about time to start putting the garden to bed this year. While it has been a challenging growing season with a cool spring and lots of rain, I always enjoy sharing my freshly picked harvests with family and friends. Pumpkins, squash and cassoulet beans are about the only remaining things to harvest later this fall. I just picked the last of the corn you see in the photo today, which we BBQ’d on the grill and it was delicious! With colder temps expected soon, I still need to bring all the tender fruit trees and herbs inside to the garage in the next few weeks. I guess it is time to start planing what new stuff I’d like to try next year. Happy Fall
Dr. Bashioum’s Garden: Shishito Peppers
August 8th, 2014
I just picked these Japanese Shishito Peppers to share with Chef Billy at Sushi Fix today. When I’m not doing cosmetic surgery or seeing patients in my Wayzata office, most likely I’m in my garden!
Next up, my heirloom tomatoes are looking almost ripe and the French melons are holding their own this year and should be ready to eat soon.
