Film Project: Honoring US Korean War Vets- 60 yrs.
I was in S. Korea this past week, helping my wife, Lindsay film a documentary about US Veterans being honored for their service during the Korean War. It was a group effort and our son Josh was behind the camera this time. We were among the invited guests of the S. Korean government and witnessed firsthand the profound thankfulness they overwhelmingly showed our Veterans.
On Wednesday we filmed a spectacular re-enactment of Gen. MacArthur and the Marines landing during the famous battle at Inchon (an area now known as Incheon), where US troops and S.Korean troops fought side by side. We were so humbled by the gratitude demonstrated by the S. Korea citizens for America’s role in safeguarding their freedom. ROK Vets came up to us with tears in their eyes to thank us. It was a very inspiring trip and the documentary will strive feature this special bond that was forged 60 years ago this month. We will feature photos and film clips of this extraordinary experience in the week ahead.
