Making MN Maple Syrup

March 31st, 2011

Our neighbor across the street makes his own “Sugar Bush” by tapping his Maple trees to make wonderful maple syrup.  Our warm sunny Spring days and cool evenings are a perfect combination for the running sap to be collected for maple syrup.  I hope we are still on the list to receive this lovely handcrafted gift.  The tapped trees signal that the arrival of summer can’t be too far down the road.

One can only hope!

Friday Photo: Almost Hole in 1

March 18th, 2011

Although I’m not much of a golfer, our son Joshua almost sunk this shot in Southern California yesterday.  The shot was good enough to win the 17th Hole St. Patrick’s Day Challenge. (his cell phone photo)

Josh was taking a much deserved break following a really hectic week with his  disaster preparedness  company, Early Warning Labs.
